Day by Day Itinierary

Day  6  Shigatse, Lhasa  (   )

Immerse yourself in the fine Tibetan temple buildings at the Tashilhunpo Monastery, which houses world’s biggest bronze statue - Jampa Buddha, 28 meters high. Afterwards, drive back to Lhasa, why not take in the beautiful natural scenery en route including villages, grasslands, clear blue sky, wild animals? Upon arrival in Lhasa, transfer to hotel.

Shooting Tips:
1. At Tashilhunpo Monastery, you can photograph Buddhist temple and Lama. While no photo inside the hall.
2. Do not skip the chance to photograph brilliantly colored, exquisite Mani Stone and mural, which are scattered along the road behind Tashilhunpo Monastery.
3. Why not take in the beautiful natural scenery on the way back to Lhasa, including villages, grasslands, clear blue sky, wild animals?


[ Optional ] Nepal / China border: Nepal and China have a common border of 1414.88 kilometer presently. It runs west to east from Zanskar range passing through various ranges of Mountains. Nepal-China boundary is as old as the history of the two countries, more than 90 percent of the frontiers run through high altitudes with rocks and snow, glaciers and ice fields which are entirely uninhabited. Both countries have respected and continue to respect the existing traditional and customary boundary line and have lived in amity.
Day  7  Shigatse  (   )

Today, dive in the beautiful natural views of the famous Sacred Lake of Tibet – Namsto Lake. There are plenty of photography opportunities en route: charming views of immense prairie, herds of yaks and horses, Yangpachen, Tanggula Mountains. Arrive at Namsto Lake, appreciate the sunset, and stay overnight in Namtso guesthouse.

Shooting Tips
1. The scenery of Namtso Lake is subject to the change of time. The wide open spaces, dotted with the tents of local nomads are intoxicating.
2. Besides beautiful views in Namtso, it is also a famous sacred Buddhist place. There is a cave in Tashi Peninsula and many Buddhisim adherents, and you can communicate with them if you like.
3. The platform on Tashi Peninsula is available for you to shoot the amazing long-distance view.
4. The temperature of day and night are quite different. The nights are cold even in summer days. Please take warm clothes, a backup down jacket is highly recommended.
5. Shops and grocers can hardly be found on the way, therefore please bring lots of food and water.


[ Optional ] Tibetan Family Visit: Every Tibetan family has been either directly or indirectly affected by the Chinese, Indian and Nepal culture. Family life is one of the most interesting attractions during your stay in Tibet. Common Tibetan people welcome you to their homes, greet you in their traditional way and entertain you with their typical food.

Your Tibet photography tour of a lifetime comes to the end today.

Get up early to photograph the awe-inspiring sunrise over Namtso Lake. Later of the day, drive back to Lhasa. After lunch, you will be transfer to airport or train station for next destination or home.

 


[ Optional ] Namtso Lake: Tibetan for 'Heavenly Lake', Namtso is regarded as one of Tibetan Buddhism's three holiest lakes. The lake is a pilgrimage site for Buddhists, who consider it the seat of Paramasukha Chakrasamvara. Buddhists believe that buddhas, bodhisattvas and vajras will assemble at Namtso in the Tibetan year of the sheep.
