Trekking Route: Leten to Bartso

Bartso is the village of five homes of drokpa (nomads). This settlement has a permanent sources of water because of which it is considered as a good place to camp for the Tsurphu to Yangpachen trekking. The slopes around the village are covered in juniper and valuable bushes are extracted from this forest and trucked to Lhasa to feed the people of the new provincial city.

[ Optional ] The Potala Palace: The Potala Palace is a landmark of Lhasa and Lama Buddism. It is a 13 storey and 1000 rooms' palace and once winter residence of the Dalai Lama. The construction of the present structure began during the reign of the fifth Dalai Lama in 1645 and took more than 50 years to complete.

Trekking Route:  Bartso to Djore Ling Nunnery

Dorje Ling Nunnery is a group of white houses situated at Dorje Ling Valley. The centerpiece of this friendly nunnery is a red chapel. The chapel is decorated in a very simple way, reflecting the modest of means of the 52 nuns who call this place their home. The nuns are quite happy to show visitors around the nunnery and donations are most welcomed.

Trekking Route: Djore Ling Nunnery to Yangpachen Monastery

Yangpachen Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yangpachen. It is historically the seat of the Shamarpas of Karma Kagyü. It is about 85 km northwest of Lhasa "on the northern side of the Lhorong Chu valley above the Lhasa-Shigatse highway."

[ Optional ] The Barkhor Street: The Barkhor Street is Lhasa's inner pilgrim circuit shaped roughly like an octagon that runs around the Jokhang. The circuit is lined with markets, shops, stalls and street vendors providing every conceivable item a Tibetan could need. The best place to start the circuit is right outside the Jokhang in a clockwise direction.

Today you will be driven to Lhasa. It’s about a 2-hour(100 kilometers) drive from Yangpachen to Lhasa. Then you will be escorted to your hotel. Rest of the day is free to you.
