Day 1
Arrival / Lijiang
Arrive at Lijiang airport, pickup by our English speaking tour guide and transfer to hotel. Stroll around the old town by yourself.

Day 2 (B, L, D)
Lijiang / Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge / Half-Way Hostel
Drive to Qiaotou town, trek to Tina's Inn in the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge. In the early morning, drive to Qiaotou Town. It takes 2 hours on the trip. Your hiking trip starts from here, the 28 zigzaging turns will be a real mission. The total trekking route is 18 km, and it takes about 6 hours. You will arrive at Half-Way Hostel to finish today's trekking.

The river in the gorge is only 17 kms long, but the trails on the mountains are different. You need to walk more distance than the river goes.

While you are walking in the gorge, because you only need to stay for one night in the simple hostel in the gorge, so please leave most of your luggages in Lijiang. Our driver will leave Qiaotou town when we start to trek.

What you need to carry:
2 days change clothes, two bottles of water, chocalate and camera are all you need to carry on the trip. If you need someone else to carry your extra luggage, a muel is the only available tool, the extra cost will be paid by yourself.

Day 3 (B, L, D)
Half-Way Hostel / Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge / Walnut Grove Village
The toal hiking journey today is 18 km.

Continue hiking to Middle section, have a rest and enjoy your lunch in Tina’s Inn. 1 hour walking down the steep cliff to the bank of Jinsha River, worship the dangerous shoal of "Starriness", it is the most narrow part of the gorge, where a tiger can easily jump over the Jinsha River.

Then 1 more hour to climb up the gorge, then continue hiking to Walnut Grove Village. Stay over night at Chateau De Woody Guest House.

Day 4 (B, L)
Walnut Grove Village / Daju / Lijiang
Today we will continue your trekking at the Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge, through trails for 2 km (about 1 hour) to a small ferry, cross the Jinsha River by boat, climb up the cliff and see the beautiful Daju Town. We will stop at Daju for your lunch.

Later we will drive back to Lijiang. Visit Yuhu village and House of Mr. Joseph Rock.

Yuhu Village, a village at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, where Mr. Joseph Rock, a famous Russian Scientist lived for 27 years from 1922 to 1949, enjoy hundreds of photos and articles of the culture in this area.

Day 5 (B)
Lijiang / Depart
In the morning, visit the old town of Lijiang, escorted tour to Square Street, Mu Prince Mansion and Three Wells. Later transfer to the airport for your next destination.

Meals as mentioned in the itinerary "B" stands for American breakfast, "L" for Chinese Lunch in local restaurant. "D" for Chinese dinner in local restaurant.
*Exceptions:
If the occasional hotel does not offer western breakfast, “B” stands for Chinese breakfast or if the clients requested Chinese breakfast.

Weather condition for trekking in Tiger Leaping Gorge
The raining season in Zhongdian, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lujiang and Lijiangis from late May to early September, roads might be blocked by mountain slide or falling rocks.The best traveling time for our trekking tour is from October to April.

In case of bad weather condition or road difficulties, the original itinerary which has been confirmed by us might has to be changed. The leader for this treking tour is our local tour guide, sometimes even the whole trip could be cancelled eventually. Please trust the judgement of our expienced tour guide, they are the expert and have escored trekking trips for years. Our safty is rely on them.
