Day 1
Arrival / Guilin

Upon arrival at Guilin airport, you will be met by our English speaking tour guide and transferred to hotel. Leisure on your own for the rest of the day.

Day 2 (B, L, D)
Guilin / Jiuwu
Transfer via: drive & trek
Start early in the morning, drive to Linchuan County, start to trek at Xinzai, we will stop for one hour at Jiangtou village.

Jiangtou village is 32 kms north of Guilin, It is a ancient village with a history of 600 years.

Our drive stops at Xinzai, where our hike begins. The driver will pickup us from the other side of the mountain on Day 4. All your big luggaes will be left on the coach, and you will not see them in two days. We will arrange a muel to take your change clothes for two-day's trekking.

The trail traverses terraced slopes and bamboo forests and connects several Zhuang and Yao minority villages in the area. The solitude and calm of the trail are overwhelming, and at times the only sounds we hear come from a babbling brook or chirping bird. The hike ends in Jiuwu Village, literally "old house" village, where we overnight with a local family and experience their generous hospitality.

Day 3 (B, L, D)
Jiuwu village / Jinkeng Rice Terrace / Tiantou village

Today we will trek for 4 hours to Tiantou village, pass large areas of rice terrace and villages. We will arrive Jinkeng rice terrace in the afternoon, and stay overnight in Tiantou village.

Many of these villages are very remote, and are only accessible via the trail we are following. Therefore, we can experience a side of China that, even today, has hardly been touched by the many changes sweeping through other parts of the country. Looking out over the terraced landscape, it is hard to imagine how long it took to carve the mountains into the beautiful scene unfolding around us.

Jinkeng Rice Terrace, which is home to Yao minorities. It is located around 25 miles (40 km) away from Longsheng, where you will be rewarded feats of farm engineering going all the way up a string of 2400 feet (800 m) mountains. The 66-square-km network irrigation project was began by the ethnic Zhuang in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), and finished by the Qing (1644-1911).

Day 4 (B, L)
Tiantou village / Longji Dragon Backbone Rice Terrace / PingAn village
Transfer via: trek and drive
4 hours trek from Tiantou village to PingAn village, take our coach to be transferred to Guilin by road.

Today, we finish the last portion of our hike and end in Ping'an Village. The village is nestled high on the mountain slope, and overlooks a breathtaking view of a wide expanse of carefully carved fields.

Longji Dragon Backbone Rice Terrace are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountaintop, with the highest place of an elevation of 885m and the lowest 380m. The coiling line spirals up from the mountain foot to the top, making the mountain looks like huge snail seen from afar.

Day 5 (B, L, D)
Longji / Yangdi / Hebao Hill
Transfer via: trek and drive
We drive 2 hours to Yangdi, a small fishing villag. Your hiking tour along the Li River starts here. Three hours hiking to Hebao Hill. We will stay in a local villge overnight.

Along the way you witness scenes that transported us back in time; farmers walking their Water Buffalo along the river's edge, men casting their hand sew nets out onto the water in hopes of catching fish, simple watercraft made of bamboo poles tied together. Every turn of the boat brought an endless procession of the dramatic rock formations. Stay in a local family hostel at the foot of Hebao Hill.

Day 6 (B, L)
Hebao Hill / Xingping / Yangshuo
Transfer via: trek and drive
Get up 4:00 to climb up Hebao Hill to enjoy the sunshine. After having the breakfast continue hike for two more hours to Xingping. Take public bus to Yangshuo.

Yangshuo, the natural scenery features unique karst hills, crystal water, exquisite stones and intricate caves as well as a cultural historic heritage and folks of diverse customs. At night, have fun on the West Street, don't drink too much to miss tomorrow's program. Or you can go to watch the envening show - Impression Liu Sanjie (Optional). The Cormorant Bird catching fish show at night is also something new (Optional).

Day 7 (B, L)
Yangshuo / Departure
Transfer via: bike and drive

From 6:30 to 9:00 am, cycle for 2 hours from Yangshuo to Aishan Village in the early morning, you will arrive at the Moon Hill and then you continue you bike ride on the trails to Yangshuo. After a hot shower in the hotel, you will be transfer by company vehicle to take bamboo rafting for two hours on Yulong River through limestone mountains and trails.

Back to Guilin airport for return flight to sweet home in the afternoon.

Meals as mentioned in the itinerary "B" stands for American breakfast, "L" for Chinese Lunch in local restaurant. "D" for Chinese dinner in local restaurant.
*Exceptions:
If the occasional hotel does not offer western breakfast, "B" stands for Chinese breakfast or if the clients requested Chinese breakfast.
