Introduction:
Astor House Hotel(or Richard's Hotel,as it was known before) was established in 1846(during Qing Dynasty Daoguang period,26 years)by the Richard's family.It is the very first western hotel property all over China since Shanghai became a trading port.
The hotel moved to where it is now on the north end of Baidu Bridge formerly "Weiersi Bridge",and renamed to Astor House Hotel in 1857(Qing Dynasty,Xianfeng period,7 years).
To make it the most deluxe western hotel in the city and one of the best in China and in the Far East alike,the hotel was restored in 1907(Qing Dynasty,Guangxu period,33years)to a neo-classic Baroque structure.
Over the past 150 years,Astor House Hotel retains its glorious architectural essence,and helps to epitomize the historical nature of the city of Shanghai.
Dr Einstein,the great physicist, had lived in Astor House Hotel in Nov 14,1922 when he reached Shanghai. Art Master,Charles Chaplin was also in Astor House Hotel on his visit to China in 1936.

In present time,Astor House Hotel has 116 various type of rooms.including deluxe rooms, standard rooms, 4-bed rooms and some big rooms. Our rooms are decorated in Barloke style ov Victoria times in 19th century,they are very spaciousand bright with comfortable enviroment.Each room has big sanitary place and satellite Tv,IDT/DDT,air conditioner and other modern equipments.

Richard restaurant in Astor House Hotel has a luxurious and spacious dining hall and 7/comfortable dining rooms of various size.Richard restaurant can hold about 300 person to hane dinner in same time.Besides this,it also has some special style bar for guests to enjoy their timr in our restaurant.
We specially offer Huaiyang style and Szechuen style disbes.They are both cooked by our professional cooker.All dishes are cooked in delicious taste and beautiful appearance. Our specialty include:Boiled steak fish with tomato sauce saute diced chicked crab paste with meat.
